The Agency, also known as "BBJProjeK The Agency" since 2019, was a subsidiary entity of the BBJProjeK organization mainly focused on Android and open-source development. It was effectively disolved on June 10th, 2021.
After a period of individual development, Jago, Gabriel Howard, Sergio, Arseniy and other developers and undergraduate engineers arrived on the community and scarved out a niche for themselves in the Android development. They founded a community called The Agency, it was also known as "The Zonc HQ".
It's revealed that different communities in the same development environment were having issues between them, which were in turn just divisions of a single criminal organization. However, these two communities entered in conflict because of rivalry and the battle between, triggering an infighting in Jago's crew, starting the tech war.
The origin of The Agency appears a year before the organization. With capital initally provided by ZoncEU foundation, this entity was dedicated to the Android developmend. It released several projects, such as ElementOS ROM, PaloKernel, Marcux Kernel, or SafetyNet Builder, as well as contributions to other development like Project Treble, Substratum Theme Engine, and more.
A year later, on June 26th, 2019, some members of the development founded the BBJProjeK organization and brought the Agency group into the organization to serve as a consolidated legal trademark, effectively renaming the group to "BBJProjeK The Agency".
In 2021, the main organization absorbed the subsidiary entity alongside with other ones, which made The Agency to go deprecated on June 10th, 2021. The Telegram group chat, well-known in the community, was closed days later.
All the ongoing related development at the time were finalized and deprecated on August 31th, 2021. ElementOS ROM were translated to Hetruti OS team, which was in active development for two years more. The merging was completed on September 3nd, 2021.
Despite its initial promise and contributions to the Android landscape, BBJProjeK The Agency ceased its operations. The team's lead developer left development, perhaps creating significant internal instability to keep projects running. The actual circumstances surrounding its dissolution remain undisclosed by they own team, leaving a void in the realm of Android development within the organization's ecosystem.
